“Ahmad Shah Massoud’s legacy is the freedom and justice that is alive
within every Afghan," says the son of the revered anti-Taliban
commander, twenty years after his assassination. Speaking to AFP during a
visit to Paris for the inauguration of a plaque in his father's honour,
31-year-old Ahmad Massoud calls out the US government's "rushed
decision" to strike a deal with the Taliban and slash its troop
presence. He vows to continue in his father's footsteps to drive out the
insurgents and restore power to the people.
